Book Review: “Investing In Resources” is exceptionally worthwhile reading.
We never have reviewed a book either on the Canadianmineanalysis.com site or on the Montrealanalyst.com site or even going back on the old Canaminvestor site. However, “Investing in Resources” is so comprehensive and offers such superb insight into many other aspects of resource investing that we want to be certain that readers are aware of the book. It would be presumptuous to suggest that most if not the vast majority of our readers are not already quite knowledgeable in mining and resources. However, there are areas that many investors may have little knowledge of. Adrian Day covers those areas and does it quite well.
He gives an insightful overview of the commodities markets with an in depth dialogue of supply and demand. His historical perspective entre of the history of and economics of China gives a solid backdrop to the ever growing world demand for commodities and the cycles that often occur with surprising consistency. A key point is that the author believes that we are in a period that offers exceptional opportunities to patient and prudent investors in resource sector stocks. Simply stated, the opportunity for exceptional investment success exists in the mining and resource stocks.
The book covers so well gold companies, silver, platinum, base metals, coal, energy, uranium and the rare earth elements as well-as well as other topics. Advice in the selection of companies and market cycles are covered and well explained in the process.
The bottom line is that the “treatise” is well worth checking out on Google. It sells for about $45 and would be money well spent for most investors, particularly those who are resources investment focused. “Investing In Resources” is exceptionally worthwhile reading.
